Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) |

When you work with a REBAC Accredited Buyers Representative, you
get extra peace of mind for what will likely be one of your
larger financial transactions, and one that can be a complicated
and sometimes time-consuming process. It’s a purchase that is
really unlike almost everything else you’ll buy.
All REALTORS® are educated professionals, but not all REALTORS®
are Accredited Buyers Representatives.
“The ABR® designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer
representation. This coveted designation is awarded to real
estate practitioners by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC)
of the National Association of REALTORS® who meet the specified
educational and practical experience criteria” (REBAC,
NAR)
To attain the ABR® designation, REALTORS must complete five
major requirements:
- Meeting REBAC educational course requirements
- Completion of elective course requirements
- Passing written examinations on legal and practical aspect
of representation
- Practical experience requirement acting as a buyers
representative
- Maintain status as a member in good standing with REBAC
